Vidant Chowan Hospital is a modern 25 bed critical access facility located in historic Edenton, North Carolina, and provides services and programs to 45,000 people in 4 counties. Vidant Chowan Hospital's partnership with Vidant Health gives our patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by an academic medical center. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region, and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.


  • Plan and provide for surgical care of patients as directed by physicians, registered nurses and established policies and procedures.  Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain instruments, equipment and material resources.  Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus additional years of formal training or education. 
  • Must have graduated from an accredited surgical tech program or have at least 2 years surgical tech experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Basic Life Support upon hire

Other Information

  • Part time position (20 hours per week), with benefits. 
  • Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
  • Call from 3pm to 7am one to two times a week.
  • 24 hour call coverage on Saturday and Sunday every third to fourth weekend.
