Vidant Medical Transport provides critical care air and ground service to areas within 150 miles of Greenville, North Carolina. We are based at Vidant Medical Center, home of the region's only Level-1 Trauma Center and Children's Hospital.  Vidant Medical Transport is nationally recognized for safety, quality and service. We are fully accredited by CAMTS (the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems). Responsibilities

  • The Transport Nurse functions as a professional representative of the Vidant Medical Transport system and is responsible for rendering advanced life support care to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care.
  • The Transport Nurse will assist with the orientation of new personnel to the Vidant Medical Transport system, identify areas for continuing education specific to transport crews' needs through chart reviews, crew interaction, will assist the Chief Flight Nurse , Chief Flight Paramedic, and SDA in designing, implementing and updating the continuing education program for the Vidant Medical Transport system.
  • As an employee of the Vidant Medical Transport system, the Transport Nurse shall support continuity of service through flexibility in scheduling and base assignmentThe Transport Nurse shall participate in system wide and base site projects on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • RN License
  • 3-5 years of experience in an ICU or Emergency Department setting.
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC
  • One specialty certification for example, CEN, CFRN, or ability to achieve within a year of hiring.

  • Ground positions available.
  • Offer amount will be determined by number of years of related RN experience.
  • Shifts are typically 12 hours/36 hrs per week.
