The East Carolina Heart Institute is the first in North Carolina devoted exclusively to education, research, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The institute is associated with Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University.   • A registered nurse (RN) will deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. 
  • A registered nurse (RN) will provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of  North Carolina.
  • A registered nurse (RN) will participate in Quality Improvement Activities. 
  • A registered nurse (RN) will attend educational programs and staff orientation which promotes personal and professional development.

Minimum Requirements

  • ADN required and BSN preferred.
  • Current NC RN licensure required.
  • One year of current Operating Room RN experience is required.  Prefer CVOR experience.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association required. 
  • Position is day shift, weekdays, 8-10-12 hours shift options.
