Position Summary

  • Responsible for administering diagnostic and habilitative/ rehabilitative services to patients referred for services and maintaining records pertinent to such services. Observes, evaluates and documents diagnostic and treatment effects.
  • Consults with supervisor on all pertinent matters for program and professional development (i.e. research projects, expansion of programs, record keeping, policies and procedures, etc.).
  • Will also be involved in team dynamics and participate in interdisciplinary activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from a Masters of Science or Master of Arts Program in Speech Language Pathology North Carolina Speech Language Pathology License Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology awarded by ASHA
  • Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Speech Language Pathology and a willingness to participate in continuing education and training to remain current in the field. Ability to work with other healthcare professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperative efforts

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience in a medically based Speech Language Pathology setting
  • Prior direct patient care experience with medically complex patients
  • Prior direct patient care experience with trachs/vents and instrumental swallowing evaluation techniques
  • Prior direct experience with application of evidence based evaluation/treatment techniques and modalities
