Vidant Medical Center is the only rehabilitation center in eastern NC with specialty units for Stroke Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Brain Injury, Neuro and Spinal Cord Injury. Vidant Medical Center also has 6 CARF accredited programs. Programs and equipment include Lokomat, ZeroG Harness, Bioness, and Biodex.

Position Summary

  • Responsible for administering diagnostic and habilitative/ rehabilitative services to patients referred for services and maintaining records pertinent to such services. 
  • Observes, evaluates and documents diagnostic and treatment effects.
  • Consults with supervisor on all pertinent matters for program and professional development (i.e. research projects, expansion of programs, record keeping, policies and procedures, etc.). 
  • Will also be involved in team dynamics and participate in interdisciplinary activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from a Masters of Science or Master of Arts Program in Speech Language Pathology
  • North Carolina Speech Language Pathology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology awarded by ASHA or must be obtained within one year of hire
  • Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Speech Language Pathology and a willingness to participate in continuing education and training to remain current in the field
  • Ability to work with other healthcare professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperative efforts
