  • Responsible for the daily food preparation for both retail and patients to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Assists in the preparation, portioning, garnishing, presentation. Responsible for all ordering and safe storage of food for assigned locations.
  • Estimates food consumption in order to purchase the appropriate amount of ingredients for preparation and provides recipe standards for each meal.
  • Ensures that kitchen, equipment and storage facilities are sanitary, neat and organized.
  • Leads and supervises team by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate. Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate resource when necessary.
  • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with company safety and loss prevention programs and with standards.

Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.
7.  Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
9.  Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English (Bilingual in Spanish is encouraged)
  • Advanced culinary skills appropriate for the position are required. Must be able to read, comprehend and follow standardized recipes. Good working knowledge of food preparation. Experience with institutional kitchen equipment and in large volume food preparation.
  • Ability to complete and maintain a Serve Safe Certification within the 1st year of employment is required.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in large volume kitchens in either restaurant or institutional setting is required. Sound culinary techniques and leadership is a must.  Supervision of minimum of 5 or more people is required.
