About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Take minutes or notes, transcribes correspondence and other material from recorded or direct dictation and compose and type correspondence
  • Types reports, memos and maintains various lists, card files and other records, confidentially.
  • Represents the hospital at various outside community functions.
  • Monitors monthly budget.
  • Operates word processor or other electronic equipment.
  • Coordinates duties and activities of lower level clerical positions and/or volunteers.
  • Keep manager calendar, set appointments, make arrangements and preparations for travel, conferences, meetings and special events.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent, plus formal courses related to secretarial sciences.
  • 1-2 years experience as a secretary or administrative assistant.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prefer 2 or more years as a Senior Secretary or Administrative Assistant in a medical setting, preferable Emergency or ICU, high volume and fast paced settings.
