Vidant Health is a regional health system serving 29 counties in eastern North Carolina. We are working every day to improve the health of the 1.4 million people we serve. Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Executive Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Senior Director, Philanthropy Services serves as the leader of all centralized and shared philanthropy services and operations for Vidant Health. The Senior Director serves as a member of the Vidant Philanthropy Executive Team and
Vidant Philanthropy Leadership Team.
Provides leadership and direction for the design and implementation of strategic and operational fundraising activities that will strengthen Vidant's position with past, current and potential donors
Oversees prospect identification and research including the tracking of performance metrics, wealth screening and analysis. Responsible for philanthropy program forecasting and analysis, development of philanthropy objectives and metrics.
Develops regular reports on the progress of philanthropy efforts and campaigns to be used with Vidant’s senior leadership team and various boards, including the communication of emerging issues and challenges to the overall philanthropy program.
Develops policies and procedures to support Vidant’s philanthropy operations including HIPAA/privacy practices, gift acceptances and pledge agreements, naming gifts and recognition policies, and endowment levels.
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior level position in the philanthropy field and including some experience in a multi-hospital health system. Annual, major and capital campaign experience required.
Experience in building, mentoring and motivating a team. Deep understanding of philanthropy operations and administration, including Raiser's Edge and prospect research.
CFRE is a plus.
Basic computer skills required. Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills required
