Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home.  Our partnership with Vidant Health enhances our wide range of services and improves the quality of care our patients receive. More than 20 specialties are represented by Vidant Edgecombe Hospital's medical staff, assuring the people of Edgecombe county that almost all their health needs can be met right here at home. In addition to acute care, our services include rehabilitation, oncology and outpatient clinics.

Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Health Information Management Manager HIM, and is responsible for the release of medical information to authorized individuals. Completes birth certificates. Retrieves records as requested for physicians and hospital staff, and maintains chart location in computer.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate with one year of office experience preferred, preferably in a health information management department or medical office setting.
  • Individual should be proficient in typing.
  • Computer experience desirable.
  • Maintain notary status.

Preferred Requirements

  • RHIT or RHIT eligible.

Other Information

  • Full Time position, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
