Responsibilities

  • The Referral Coordinator must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to coordinate operations of the referral processes, including, but not limited to pre-certifications, and scheduling appointments. Office equipment operation and additional duties as required by practice manager.

  • Coordinate operations and processes

  • Obtaining pre-certifications

  • Collaborate with medical practices/facilities to schedule referral appointments, diagnostic testing, and imaging procedures timely.

  • Coordinate referral appointment information and testing/visit instructions to patients by telephone or letter.

  • Maintaining Excel spreadsheet Referral Log.

  • Fax required documents (office notes and orders) to non-EHR practices/facilities in preparation of patient's visit/test.

  • Scan documents (office notes/test results) into EHR from non-EHR practices/facilities.

  • Office Proficiency

  • Must possess excellent telephone skills.

  • Must be capable of multitasking.

  • Must possess computer skills, with Excel and Word knowledge/experience.

  • Must possess written communication skills.

  • Office equipment operation

  • Cross-train to provide office coverage in other areas.
  • Must be capable of operating multi-line telephones, scanner, copier, and fax machine.
  • Additional duties as required by manager

  •  Monitors inventory needs and reports to the practice manager.

  • Other duties may be required that are not list.

     

Minimum Requirements

  • High School + 1-2 years formal training/education

  • Must possess CPT and ICD-9/10 coding knowledge. Must know medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

  • 1-3 years related work experience

  • Must possess computer skills, with Excel and Word knowledge/experience
