About the Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital, located in Nags Head, North Carolina, is a full service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital opened in March 2002 and is one of the newest hospitals in eastern North Carolina. The hospital's 21 private rooms are designed to meet the needs of our coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 250,000 in the summer season. The labor and delivery area consists of two labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms, a five-bed nursery, a dedicated caesarean-section operating room and a triage room.

Responsibilities

  • Operates X-Ray Equipment to make radiographs of designated body parts. Responsibilities include knowledge of all x-ray equipment, proper patient positioning, exposures, film developing for interpretations, implementation of patient charges, and assists physician physicians as required. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible.

Minimum Requirements

Must be a High School graduate or equivalent.  Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and possess a current ARRT registry.  Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire.  Experiences than 1 year of Hospital radiology department or medical office experience required.

  • This is a PRN (As Needed) position and no guaranteed hours.
