Position Summary

  • Delivers quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to guide care delivery. Directs, quality patient care, utilizing advanced clinical skill levels and knowledge. Develops, implements, revises and evaluates the plan of care.
  • Executes the Vidant Medical Center Nursing Professional Practice Model and Model of care delivery to support professional practice and collaborative partnerships with each other, physicians and members of the healthcare team.
  • Engages in professional growth and development, continuing competence, lifelong learning, quality care and research to affect empirical outcomes. Develops others. Holds self and others accountable to nursing professional practice. Fosters an environment of peer accountability.
  • Participates in community partnerships and collaborative initiatives. Participates in the development of students, new nurses and experienced nurses hired into the organization.
  • Develops and serves in a leadership role at the unit level such as charge nurses, clinical coach.
  • Partners with unit leadership on quality and/or research initiatives to achieve outcomes.
  • Fulfills criteria spelled out in the Professional & Clinical Excellence Pathway

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit requirements.
  • 2 years or more of related experience is required.
