About the Unit

Surgical Oncology, Urology, and ENT is a surgical intermediate unit caring for adult patients with a variety of surgical needs including:

  • Surgical Oncology, Urology, GYN, and Head & Neck surgeries

  • Cardiac Arrhythmias

  • Complex fluid and medication management

  • Complex wounds and treatments

  • Extensive emotional support for cancer related diagnosis

  • Services also include patient education related to surgical procedures, disease processes, diagnostic procedures and trach care

  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines such as Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Navigators, Unit based Case Management and Social Work

  • Work collaboratively with the Women's and Medicine divisions to assist with patient needs

Position Summary

Deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. Develop, implements and evaluates/revises a plan of care. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promotes personal and professional development. Participate in Service Excellence Program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within one year of hire.
