Position Summary

  • 75% Abstraction of Information
  • 15% Quality Development and Implementation
  • 10% Complies with accrediting agencies. Incorporates evidenced based research and best practice criteria.
  • Responsibilities
  • Maintains confidentiality of medical records and complies with all applicable state and federal regulations, including, but
  • not limited to, HIPAA and HITECH
  • Abstraction of Information:
  • Obtains and verifies clinical information data to support clinical quality performance measurement and improvement.
  • Ensure an efficient and accurate data collection process. xtensive medical record review.
  • Abstracts data based on requirements. Collects, validates, and submits information.
  • Performs basic data analysis.
  • Quality Development and Implementation:
  • Provides QI input as it relates to assessing, evaluating and monitoring improvement strategies.
  • Provides input in the development and annual review of operational QI Plans, including measures of success.
  • Maintains close familiarity with the flow of care, staffing issues, documentation, inter and intradepartmental issues across
  • Vidant Medical Center.
  • Assists with prioritizing.
  • Collaborates with operational leaders.
  • Provides input on focused outcomes with attention to patient care, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and
  • finance(measures of success).
  • Incorporates evidenced-based research and best practice.
  • Support effots to comply with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Provides data that is accurate, timely and understandable.
  • Stays abreast of changes in standards/criteria and communicates same throughout Vidant Medical Center.
  • Supports organizational responses to onsite visits by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Professional Development:
  • Maintains own knowledge base to perform position responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

  • ADN Degree  with experience as - QI rep, Case management or Care management, safety rep
  • Related Work Experience: 5 years clinical experience
  • Registration or Certification required: Current NC RN licensure required
