Position Summary

  • The Employee Health Nurse is a registered nurse who is directly accountable to the Director of Human Resources and reports to the Environmental Control Committee Chairman.

  • He or She establishes guidelines for prevention, and control of employee illness. 

  • The nurse implements, reviews and revises policies and procedures related to employee health with the manager on a annual basis.

  • He or She provides orientation inservice to all new employees regarding employee health and inservice opportunities for all the staff on disease control policies and procedures.

  • The employee functions as the Employee Health Nurse, including duties involving workers compensation, case management, pre employment and annual screenings, immunizations, review and maintains OSHA log, and oversees the Wellness Programs of the Hospital.

Minimum Requirements

  • Employee must have a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina.

  • Three to five years experience minimum in Medical, Surgical, Critical Care setting is required and special training or experience in epidemiology is preferred.

  • The employee must participate in continuing education to develop professionally and personally.

  • Membership in the Association for Occupational Health Practitioners AOHP is preferred.

  • A knowledge of computers and organizational skills is a must as well as a Customer friendly approach to work.

Other Information

  • Hours- Full-Time - 40 hours a week. Monday - Friday.
