Position Summary

Emergency Department is divided into 7 areas providing care across the continuum of patients ages 19 years and older.

  • Pivot- First nurse in lobby
  • Triage- 2 staging area
  • Non Acute side- 22 beds
  • Acute Side- 33 beds
  • Trauma- 3 Bays
  • Teal- 8 Behavioral Health Beds
  • Blue Zone- 6 staging chairs

Message from the Manager
The Emergency Department is a challenging, fast-paced environment with lots of learning opportunities. We believe in patient/family centered care.  We work closely with our physician partners to provide safe quality care.  We have multiple staff members that are Certified Emergency Nurses. We are a Level 1 Trauma and a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center. We are also a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Teamwork is the key to our success. 

Staffing/Scheduling

  • RN ratio for 1:1 for Trauma/ Code Strokes, 1:4 on Non- Acute side. 1:3 on Acute Side. Ratio can change based on staffing needs        
  • Flexible scheduling options with self-scheduling 

Positions

  • Full-Time---work (3) 12-shifts/week, work 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
  • Part-Time--- work (2) 12 hours shifts/week, work 2 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
  • Supplemental positions- supplemental RNs work in accordance to their Supplemental Contract

Orientation

  • 18 weeks / New RN graduates; Less than 12 weeks for experienced RNs based on individual competencies
  • Work clinical coaches’ schedule, may also have an alternate coach identified
  • Structured week-by-week program based on ideal patient situations/diagnosis—shift assignments evaluated in accordance with orientation weeks/opportunities
  • Scheduled on day/mid shift and/or night shift

Dress Code

  • Solid black or white uniforms for Nurses
  • All teal or teal top with white pants for Support Staff

Professional Growth

  • Clinical Ladder (RISE) is promoted for staff to grow professionally and our team is committed to making staff successful through this endeavor.
  • Professional organization membership and certification is encouraged.
