We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

  • Deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base.
  • Develop, implements and evaluates/revises a plan of care.
  • Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promotes personal and professional development.
  • Participate in Service Excellence Program.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit requirements.


LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires 12 hours to be scheduled per six weeks schedule within identified hours of unit need (see open shifts).
  • The salary for an SP RN Level 0 is based on years of experience.
  • Education, orientation, and staff meeting time is paid at the employee's alternate rate.
  • New agreements must be completed annually set by VH or as level or unit needs change.
  • Worked hours are obtained by bidding on the open shifts posted after schedule approval for core staff via FlexWork and open shifts posted. No pre-scheduling of hours.
  • Failure to work 12 hours during the six-week schedule for 2 consecutive schedules will result in termination.
