Position Summary

Employee reports to the Director of Surgical Services. The Same Day Surgery/Pain Clinic Staff Nurse will be responsible for directly preparing patients for surgical procedures and/or generalized outpatient procedures, recovering until discharge criteria are met, and discharging the patient.  Accurate assessment skills in conjunction with physician’s orders must be utilized to determine patient’s responses and readiness for discharge as described in the policy and procedure manual, and according to individualized plan of care.  Supervises the patient care delivered by the nursing staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • The employee must hold a current license to practice as a RN in the State of North Carolina, preferably one year of experience with knowledge of current surgical techniques, methods, and principles of operating room nursing. 
  • BLS required 
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire
  • Must be efficient in the emergency management of patients.

Preferred Requirements

Critical Care background is preferred

Other Information

This is a full-time position, 36 hours per week. PACU on-call rotation is required
