Position Summary

As the Program Assistant for Cancer Care, you will serve as the resource for patients/families related to programs/services that cares for the whole patient. Collaborates with Vidant Cancer Care Leadership to achieve program objectives and overall program mission. The Program Assistiant will assists with the development and planning of programs to support the strategic priorities of Vidant Cancer Care. Develops relationships with and acts as a liaison to internal and external contacts including community partners, vendors, special visitors, and volunteers. You will assist with data collection, data entry and other computer needs supporting divisional objectives as appropriate. Submits, follows, and completes all purchasing requisitions for both capital and departmental purchases including use of philanthropic and hospital funding sources.

As the Program Assistant for Care Care, you will function as a liaison between the foundation, community partners, and Cancer Center. Assists leadership team with any special projects and events held within Cancer Center and provides secretarial support to assigned VMG staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education required, associate degree or higher preferred.

  • 2 to 3 years experience as an Administrative Secretary, Program Assistant or Database Support.

  • One year of progressively related experience, beyond three years may be substituted for 1 year of the required education, with a maximum substitution of two years.

  • Prior experience or training with community relations, purchasing and requisitions, and Excel required

  • Ability to work independently, strong organization and detail oriented skills, and ability to provide superior service required.
