Position Summary

The Physician Research Analyst reports to the Director of Physician Outreach and Market Development and is responsible for managing physician analytics database to measure performance and forecast growth opportunities. This position provides analytics that define key drivers to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency and requires the ability to translate business data and metrics into reality-based scenarios and approaches. Additionally, provides insights and makes recommendations to the director which are shared with management, departmental and organizational stakeholders in developing solutions, and timely implementation of business plans.  Manages all data aspects of the Physician Relationship Management system, including data validation, upkeep of governance, and working with vendors, Information Systems, and other internal Vidant partners to ensure accuracy and system-wide consistency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage PRM database, including receipt of multiple data streams into single system; rules for matching records; liaison to owners of source data; which includes configuring, creating, build, design and troubleshoot raw data and upgrades with in a salesforce technologies platform. Create efficiencies in data management to support and enhance the analytic capabilities across Vidant Health. Perform statistical analysis using available tools to satisfy leadership needs
  • Forecast and measure analytics and aggregates data sources and internal systems to develop meaningful reports and dashboards to assist senior leadership, directors and outreach liaisons in the monitoring and achievement of organizational performance goals and growth objectives. Utilizes all available data sources to provide valuable information to the organization for insights and strategy
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the referral service including creating analytic models, productivity metrics, methodologies, presentations, dashboards, and reports that support the service.  Assess industry benchmarks related to workflows and service management, and identify areas that are in need of process improvement and or automation.  Evaluate data collection methods for the referral service and recommend enhancements
  • The analyst has responsibility to identify targets, analyze, evaluate and create metrics and reporting to support marketing/sales plan and strategies for Physician Outreach and Market Development team as well as collaborate with planning, VMG, population health stakeholders and other users of the PRM and claims system
  • Responsible for researching data to analyze market and industry trends to identify new opportunities for growth or improvement. Identify impacts, linkages, and leakage for the business strategies and the organization using techniques that enable successful implementation of business process changes in order to solve problems or exploit opportunities
  • Serve as a project manager for special projects as assigned by the Director of Physician Outreach and Market Development, that includes gathering research, analysis and having direct contact with service lines, subject matter experts, system users and technical staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related

  • 3 years of experience in healthcare

  • Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, specifically Excel

  • Ability to work independently and as a team

  • Ability to prioritize and deal with numerous tasks at one time while meeting deadlines

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in physician data/analytics and/or with salesforce or relationship management platforms

  • Research or market analyst position in healthcare and/or business environments that conduct similar strategic or marketing planning projects

  • Tableau software experience

  • Proficient in SQL

  • EPIC certification(s)

  • Proficiency in Crystal Reports

  • Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
