Position Summary

Responsible for development and cultivation of physician relationships as it relates to growth strategies for Vidant Health. Manage activity, communicate information about health system services and physicians, gather market intelligence and utilize reporting resources within Vidant Health.  Responsible for the execution of annual outreach plan that aligns with the strategic framework for identified service lines, markets and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of initiatives to build volume, partnership and favorable physician perceptions among regional physicians and physician offices

  • Execution of sales, relationship and communication strategies to persuade physician referral sources to send patients to Vidant Health and its affiliates for identified priorities

  • Promotion, service delivery and service recovery of Vidant Health Physician Referral Service, benefits for both referring physicians and specialist offices

  • Management of communication with referring physicians and/or their office staff, including routine and follow-up visits, emails, phone calls, social media and video to uncover their needs, tailor solutions, and create mutually beneficial relationships

  • Serve as a liaison for regional practices to initiate discussions with Vidant about partnerships, mergers or acquisition and integrated care networks

  • Execution of identified tactics to meet goals, P2P (Physician to Physician Outreach), physician outreach calls, open houses, CME events, journal clubs, scheduled appointments, rounding, staff meetings, grand rounds, and other communication methods

  • Dissemination and detailing of marketing materials and collateral to supplement messaging to regional physicians and office contacts

  • Development of playbooks, presentations and speaking points for regional physicians and specialist to educate and coach physicians on creating successful outreach and relationships

  • Reputation of field based experts, accountable for knowledge and/or relationships to physicians and offices per market.  Comprehension of the competitive landscape, affinity to Vidant, opportunities and other market drivers

  • Organization of physician outreach plans, physician call panel, routing, reporting, pre-call planning and initiative involvement

  • Management of claims data, referral data, call notes, market intelligence and competitor information to tailor communication and messaging to target audiences for each initiative, market, service, or project

  • Performance for weekly pre-call planning utilizing all data from PRM and CMA tools, review of call notes, opportunity reports, data gaps, business plans and the comprehension of market and competitive intelligence

  • Measurement and evaluation of outreach activities including producing and sharing regular summaries of physician visits and their outcomes as well as their impact on referral trends

  • Communication of results or status updates on all questions to physicians and offices in managed markets

  • Representative of Vidant Health and the brand, works in a positive, motivating and relationship focused manner and escalating issues and barriers to director

  • Management of market and competitive intelligence with director

  • Responsible for Physician Relationship Management (RPM) system (salesforce) data integrity for physician and office contacts

  • Use of all workflows in PRM system--documenting calls, logging complaints, and providing market/competitive intelligence to identify market threats and growth opportunities for Vidant Health

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business/Healthcare Administration, Public Relations, or related required

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years working with physicians and medical office staff in marketing, sales, communications or customer service environments 

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and Salesforce customer relationship management tools

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to understand and utilize data

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to self-manage calendar and resources including travel, networking, marketing and entertainment budget

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, patient service oriented environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communications, Business/Healthcare Administration, Public Relations, or related

  • 5-7 years working with physicians and medical office staff in marketing, sales, communications or customer service environments
