Vidant Medical Center is the only rehabilitation center in eastern NC with specialty units for Stroke Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Brain Injury, Neuro and Spinal Cord Injury. Vidant Medical Center also has 6 CARF accredited programs. Programs and equipment include Lokomat, ZeroG Harness, Bioness, and Biodex.


  •  Assists with patient care by performing simple treatment procedures under the direction and direct supervision of a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Transports patients, charts and equipment to and from treatment areas as instructed by the therapist. Alters work hours including weekends to meet patient care demands per management request. Is responsible for the safety of patients assigned while they are in the patient treatment areas and is aware of the overall safety conditions in the areas. Unsafe conditions or actions are to be corrected and /or reported to appropriate management staff.
  • Performs inventory, cleaning and storage duties as assigned by the therapist. Assists with office duties including answering telephone, filing, copying, etc.
  • Attends and participates in all mandatory inservices/meetings. Actively participates in:establishment of program goals and objectives, establishment of program budget, space allocation, quality improvement and program development. Actively seeks to improve knowledge and skills by discussion with physical therapists/physical therapy assistants and attendance at appropriate inservices.
  • Communicates and interacts with other health care professionals, patient/caregiver according to age group and background in an appropriate and timely manner through verbal or nonverbal. Assists with orientation of new personnel per management discretion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a patient care environment related to current position (Acute Rehab, Inpatient Rehab, Outpatient Rehab) preferred.

Other Information

  • Full-time  7:00am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday, occasional weekends required depending on experience.
