  •  Assist patients in preparation for and, as necessary, during, and at the conclusion of treatment.
  • Assist patients in the safe practice of activities related to the development of strength and endurance.
  • Assist patients in ambulatory training procedures as assigned. 
  • Assumes responsibility for own growth and development including participation in position related education.
  • Perform selected treatment procedures which are commensurate with his training and are assigned to him by thetherapist.
  • Assist with the application of ultrasound, hydrocollator packs, paraffin, ice packs, Anodyne and iontophoresis units, Biodex set up, In-patient and Out-patient traction, wound care (hydrotherapy), TENS application and electrical stimulation.
  • Able to take vital signs.
  • Carries out treatment programs as are predetermined for each patient and delegated to him by the therapist.
  • Assemble equipment and accessories
  • Attends all mandatory inservice and hospital safety reviews.
  • Participates in quality control projects as assigned by the Director or CQI Coordinator.  
  • Cleans the treatment area by changing linen and returning equipment to its proper storage area.
  • Performs assigned aide/technician duties as designated by the office coordinator
  • Responsible for the safety of the patient while he is in the Physical Therapy Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate or its equivalent.
  • CPR Certification required 
  • Must have passed all competencies for Aide duties (on the job training).
  • Must complete competencies for the Technician level.

Preferred Requirements

  • Must not have any limitations to the provision of direct patient care.
  • Must be able to bend, lift and turn totally dependent patients.
  • Must be able to stand work for much of an 8 hour day.
  • Willingness to attend in-service education.
  • History of school and/or work performance which gives evidence of the ability to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Adapt to rapid and unpredictable changes in priorities.

  • Monday - Friday 9 am - 2:30 pm
  • Saturday - Sunday, 8 am - 12 noon
  • Part-Time position
