Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, formerly Heritage Hospital, is a full-service, 117-bed acute care facility where residents of Tarboro, Edgecombe county and surrounding communities receive a wide range of health services close to home.  Our partnership with Vidant Health enhances our wide range of services and improves the quality of care our patients receive. In addition to acute care, our services include rehabilitation, oncology and outpatient clinics.

Responsibilities

The Therapist is responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of patient care. He/She uses purposeful activity or interventions to promote health and achieve functional outcomes by developing, improving and restoring the highest level of independence of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a developmental or learning disability or an adverse environmental condition. The Therapist is responsible for the teaching, delegating to or supervising other personnel in implementing the treatment regimen. The Therapist is directly accountable to the manager for the quality of patient care delivered. He/She modifies and delivers care that is specific to the age, growth, and development of patients according to departmental scope of services.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current valid licensure to practice Physical Therapy in North Carolina. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and patients of varied backgrounds.
  • Additional training/certification as deemed necessary to practice in a specialty area as dictated by patient's age or condition.
  • Possess and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient.
