Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Ahoskie, NC. The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. This modern facility provides a wide range of health services to its 39,000 residents in the four-county area.

Position Summary

Pharmacy Technician II position is an advanced technician level. Pharmacy Technicians are a foundation of the pharmacy department and drive many of the workflow activities. The expectations are to support the mission, vision, and core values of Vidant Health and the pharmacy department.?? Further expectations are to actively engage in professional self-development and take a proactive approach to learning.

Responsibilities

Clear communication skills (verbal and written)

Compounding of non-sterile products

Medication Distribution

Basic Pharmacy inventory management

Manage medication use technology

Monitor and route medication requests to appropriate personnel

Training of new technicians

Participate in Quality improvement

Resource for junior staff

Specific entities may require proficiencies in particular advanced level roles

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Zero to two years related experience
High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher
PTCB Certification - CPhT

Preferred Requirements

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree - Pharmacy Technology
One year of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy setting

Other Information

This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week.  Must be willing to work all shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.  Non-benefit position.
