About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately completes medication orders for checking by the pharmacist prior to dispensing.
  • Accurately prepares IV admixtures.
  • Responsible for delivery of medications/supplies to patient care areas.
  • Responsible for stocking medications in the PYXIS units scanning on restock those items determined to be look alike sound alike, high risk, etc.
  • Participates in daily drug distribution and charging and crediting processes.
  • Participates in maintenance of inventory.
  • Maintains current Board of Pharmacy Registration and updates professional knowledge and skills.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in patient/staff relations.
  • Completes monthly unit stock inspections appropriately and timely as assigned.
  • Insures that all medications leaving the pharmacy are checked by a pharmacist.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) required.
  • Six months or more experience with medications preferred.
  • Maintains current registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must complete 10 ACPE continuing education credits each year.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience.
