Position Summary

  • Experienced pharmacist responsible for independently leading and optimizing operational, financial, and personnel activities of the Cancer Center retail pharmacy. 
  • Responsible for the day to day activities for provision of pharmacy services to include staffing, inventory controls, compliance, and coordinating services with other areas. 
  • Maintains clinical practical skills and actively learns new clinical skills to enhance the provision of pharmacy services. 
  • Accountable for the safety and quality of pharmacy services for the department. 
  • Actively participates in quality improvement programs, reports, and manages medication errors. 
  • Supervisor accountability and decision-making authority for determining the strategies, interventions and activities that will be effective and appropriate to further enable the capability of the department.
  • Accountable for ensuring performance of the department in accordance with goals.
  • Communicates key items and informs department leadership of issues affecting department performance effectiveness.
  • Facilitates development of, and adjustments, to work plans, work processes, and other resources needed to deliver services that meet expectations of the department.
  • Actively seeks out opportunities to drive and improve prescription capture ratios and revenue enhancing programs for the success of the department and organization. 
  • Facilitates change to advance the organization and uses resources and operational practices to drive execution of plans. 
  • Ensures that policies, procedures and practices are followed to support a safety culture, evidence based care, high reliability, performance improvement and transparency. 
  • Accountable for a positive organizational culture in decision making and performance management to influence work attitudes and enhance job satisfaction. 
  • Key liaison between the leadership teams and staff of the health care facility and programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree: B.S. Pharmacy required.
  • 3 - 4 years experience is required.
  • North Carolina Licensed Pharmacist required.
  • Licensed Pharmacist with at least 2 years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate required.

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters Degree: Pharm. D preferred
  • Prior management or supervisory experience of at least 1 year preferred.
