Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed, not-for-profit hospital located in Ahoskie, NC. The 15-bed ER serves approximately 21,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns. This modern facility provides a wide range of health services to its 39,000 residents in the four-county area.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC.   • Ensures appropriate staffing of qualified personnel for provision of services. 
  • Ensures all staff are properly educated in accordance with JCAHO, Medicare, Medicaid, and professional licensure and credentialing boards, to include department specific requirements and hospital policies. 
  •  Ensures departmental compliance with JCAHO, DFS, DEHHR and Board of Pharmacy regulations. 
  • Responsible for personnel actions and performance evaluations of staff.
  • Provides orientation, in-service training and continuing education for staff.
  • Participates in staffing to meet schedule/staff/workload needs.
  • Accepts responsibility for drug distribution and clinical services.
  • Develops department budgets and conducts ongoing variance analysis identifying trends regarding revenues and expenses.
  • Reviews and approves/disapproves accounts payable items.
  • Collaborates with necessary parties to ensure cost-wise instrument and equipment purchases.
  • Prepares monthly statistical reports.
  • Monitors productivity biweekly and performs budget analysis monthly to assure adherence to budget plan. Appropriately justifies and responds to any variations from budget.
  • Conducts investigations related to property losses, damage, or other related issues.
  • Communicates with Vidant Health risk management department regarding loss situations and resolution.
  • Communication liaison with insurance companies relating to property issues.
  • Prepares monthly summary of property related risk management issues.
  • Communicates property related Risk Management issues to ExecutiveTeam.
  •  Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in patient/staff relations.
  • Contributes to continuous quality improvement.
  • Functions as a member of the patient care team.
  • Maintains safe environment for employees, visitors, patients.
  • Participates in educational programs. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a graduate from an accredited school of  pharmacy .
  • Pharm D required.
  • Current North Carolina pharmacy license required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant management experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy preferred
  • Prefer experience with quality improvement processes
