Position Summary

The Perinatal Nurse Champion (PNC) will facilitate goals of the Perinatal Nurse Champion Region VI program which focuses on quality of care initiatives that positively affect the morbidity and mortality rates of women. The PNC will coordinate strategic plans with hospital and community leaders and interdisciplinary care providers. The PNC will plan and implement education, training and consultation among perinatal health providers and family practice providers and clinicians.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina required.
  • Masters in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Minimum five years Obstetrical or Maternal Health nursing experience
  • Specialty certification is preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitor Instructor preferred or will obtain Instructor status within 6 months
  • Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics Instructor preferred or will obtain instructor status within 6 months
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel out-of-town and stay overnight as necessary.
