Position Summary

  • The Patient Transporter is responsible for transporting patients of all age related groups to radiology from the Emergency Department and nursing units by wheel chair, stretcher, or bed. If patient is ambulatory, they will escort them to the radiology department. He / she will assist the radiology staff in lifting, moving, and positioning patients for imaging procedures. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process and cultural/spiritual needs of the patient.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Strength sufficient to lift patients, move mobile equipment and transport patients in wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
  • Must be able to complete assigned duties outlined in the "Physical Demands Analysis" for position.

Preferred Requirements

  • CPR certified

Other Information

  • As needed : No guaranteed number of hours per week.
  • May require some nights, weekends, and holidays.
