The Patient Safety Assistant will provide care for patients requiring direct observation due to higher risk for adverse events (falls, self-injury, suicidal ideation or harm to others). He/she will also provide professional, receptionist duties and medical record support which will assist Healthcare Providers in caring for patients and families on assigned nursing units. The Patient Safety Assistant will also provide clinical services as directed by a RN that is in accordance with the NAII licensure/ registration.

 Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 1 to 2 years of formal training or education. Specify: Approved NA II course and Unit Secretary Course. 
  • 3 months to 1 year of related experience required. 
  • Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) to be completed during orientation if not already obtained. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required, basic computer skills desirable, clinical training as part of Unit Secretary course is preferred. 
  • Must be currently listed with the NC Division of Facility Services at the Care Partner level and current NC NAII listing card required.  


Other Information

  • Full-time NIGHTS  7:00pm to 7:00am includes every other weekend.
