Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.  Responsibilities

  • Practice good quality patient care; blankets, pillows, ensure patient is soil free prior and post transport, assist patient with bathroom needs (bed pan / urinal), emesis basin and answer questions according to policy. Adhere to Red Rules, knowledge of O2 regulations, IVs, Ticket To Ride. Understanding all patient areas and procedure areas. Order / maintain supplies, assist technologists and physicians, assist professional staff in all aspects of the pharmaceutical distribution process, coordinate with dispatcher (see radiology orders on TTR) to ensure all scheduled procedures are done, maintain patient logs as well as confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tele Tracking System performing the following successfully; log in, enter zone as assigned, obtain patient info, add help, enter delay codes as required, reschedule / cancel jobs, change job status: dispatched, in progress and complete. Log onto break / lunch as advised & log out at end of shift.
  • Perform clerical duties; operates single & multi-line phones, transfer calls, answer general inquiries, ability to communicate clearly with patients, family and other health care members.
  • Adheres to dress code. Responsible for knowledge and adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedure. Attends in-service and staff meetings as required. Fulfills mandatory requirements annually.
  • Miscellaneous duties; greets employees / visitors, gives directions, maintain and clean equipment, keep hallways clear of equipment, deliver IV admixtures to appropriate nursing units or departments, maintain aseptic techniques when delivering labs. Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Training preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Previous hospital or medical experience highly preferred

Other Information

  • Part-time. Hours will vary based on department needs (20 hours/week) includes weekends and holidays.
