Vidant Chowan Hospital is a modern 25 bed critical access facility located in historic Edenton, North Carolina, and provides services and programs to 45,000 people in 4 counties. Vidant Chowan Hospital's partnership with Vidant Health gives our patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by an academic medical center. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region, and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Resolution of work queue items such as registration and claim edits for Vidant Chowan and Vidant Bertie Hospitals 
  • Review and provide quality data from the work queues related to billing, compliance, and error rates to the PAS Manager on a weekly basis and as requested.
  • Perform as an EHR Super-user to resolve technical issues as appropriate for Patient Access Services
  • Develop and maintain orientation and on-boarding plans with the PAS Manager for PAS staff.
  • Serve as a team lead when called upon by the PAS Manager
  • Serve as Supervisor on Call in the absence of the Patient Registration Coordinator for Vidant Chowan and Vidant Bertie PAS departments
  • Demonstrates safe operation of all equipment in compliance with department policy, safety, disinfection, infection control and quality control standards
  • As directed by the PAS Manager, may have additional responsibilities and /or preceptor for students and/or new employees
  • Demonstrates effective computer skills.
  • Participates and conducts In-service Education, Patient Rounds/Conferences
  • Ensures quality patient registration data outputs for the PAS departments

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma.

  • Must have excellent typing and computer skills.

  • Must have some knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Must have 2 years experience in patient registration  

Other Information

  • Full time with benefits.

  • May require travel between Vidant Chowan and Vidant Bertie Hospitals.
