Summary

Vidant Chowan Hospital

Vidant Chowan Hospital is a modern 25 bed critical access facility located in historic Edenton, North Carolina, and provides services and programs to 45,000 people in 4 counties. Vidant Chowan Hospital's partnership with Vidant Health gives our patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by an academic medical center. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region, and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient registration.  Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling.  Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.  Performs patient and customer relations.  Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education.  More than 1 year but less than two years of related work experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Billing and coding experience preferred.
