About Vidant Medical Transport - Greenville NC and surrounding areas

Vidant Medical Transport provides critical care air and ground service to areas within 150 miles of Greenville, North Carolina. We are based at Vidant Medical Center, home of the region's only Level-1 Trauma Center and Children's Hospital.  Vidant Medical Transport is nationally recognized for safety, quality and service. We are fully accredited by CAMTS (the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems).

 

 

 
   

 

 

Responsibilities

  • The Transport Paramedic is responsible for rendering advanced life support care to critically ill or injured patients in adherence with established protocols and standards of care.
  • The Transport Paramedic will assist with the orientation of new personnel to the Vidant Medical Transport system;  identify areas for continuing education specific to transport crews' needs through chart reviews, crew interaction, etc;  assist the Chief Flight Paramedic , Chief Flight Nurse, and SDA in designing, implementing and updating the continuing education program for the Vidant Medical Transport system;  participate in continuing education activities to maintain current medical command status.
  • The Transport Paramedic shall support continuity of service through flexibility in scheduling and base assignment.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Posses the following certifications: EMT-P, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and ITLS or PHTLS
  • One specialty certification for example, FP-C or the eligibility to earn a certificate within a year of hiring.
  • 3-5 years experience as a paramedic in a high call volume area.

  • Current vacancies: Ground locations available at  Bertie,  Halifax, and Onslow locations. 
  • Positions always start in Ground Transport.
  • Typical shifts are 12 hours, other scheduling options may be needed.
