About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.


  • The Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Functions within the framework of the NAI listing granted by the NC Division of Facility Services. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education.
  • NAI listing with North Carolina Department of Facility Services.
  • BLS is required.
  • Experience in a comparable facility can only be substituted for NA I course by successful completion of challenge exam acceptable to the Department of Facility Services.

Other Information

  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
  • Occasional rotation to later shifts to cover coworker vacations.
  • Call every 6th weekend, call hours 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
