Responsibilities

  • Obtains vital signs, temperature, or other specific parameters as directed on patients. Documents findings on appropriate flow sheet and reports findings to Registered Nurse (RN). Identifies and reports changes in patient status to the RN.
  • Performs a variety of technical tasks, which may include: collecting, preparing and transporting specimans to the laboratory.
  • Documents and reports results to the RN. Initiates CPR and other emergency measures as required. Adheres to established emergency and disaster procedures.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of a variety of equipment, reports and hazardous equipment and seeks repairs when necessary.
  • Keep track of and order supplies.
  • Assists nurse in intake procedures.
  • Transports patients safely using appropriate means.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent Successfully completed the Nursing Assist I program at an accredited school Active NAI listing with the North Carolina Division of Facility Services
  • Current BLS certification
