Position Summary

  • A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a Nuclear Medicine professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using radioactive tracers and related diagnostic procedures.
  • The scope of practice of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, and has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARRT (N) and/or CNMT certification(s) which is the standard practice in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age, disease process, and cultural and spiritual needs of the patient.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years of formal training/education.
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine required.
  • Current R.T.-N. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) and/or current C.N.M.T., certified by Nuclear Medicine Technologists Certification Board required.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • An Associate or Bachelor degree with diploma/certificate in Nuclear Medicine will substitute for the Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine.
  • A diploma/certification in Nuclear Medicine with 10+ years experience will substitute for the Associate degree in Nuclear Medicine.
