Position Summary

The Monitor Technician - Patient Escorter-Transporter II is an integral member of the patient care team. Transporter II's are responsible for ensuring the provision of quality patient care and safety during transport of patients through utilization of safety devices and close observation. During the transport of cardiac monitored patients, he and or she will ensure safe patient monitoring during transport and trouble shoot cardiac monitors' alarms, parameters and equipment.  The Patient Escorter-Transporter II will transport lab specimens and medications that are needed to appropriate units and or departments. He or she will demonstrate knowledge of appropriate technology systems and have basic computer skills. The Transporter will also be responsible for other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent
  • CPR - BLS Healthcare Provider Certification is required through American Heart Association
  • EKG and ECG interpretation Certification or work experience is required
  • Less than 1 year in a Healthcare setting is required.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred
