About Vidant Medical Center
Vidant Medical Center is a 900+ bed Level-1 Trauma Center, regional referral hospital and is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health. We serve as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Vidant Medical Center provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing. Perform laboratory tests. Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity. Communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient.
Maintain properly documented records of activities. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Four year college degree in Medical Technology required.
- ASCP or equivalent certification required.
- Subjects will qualify to be employed as or promoted to Medical Technologist II if he/she has ASCP certification and one year of full time experience in a hospital lab setting or 3 years of full time experience in a hospital setting without ASCP certification.
- 1-3 years experience in clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist required.
