Position Summary

  • Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing. 
  • Perform laboratory tests. 
  • Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity.  
  • Communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient.
  • Maintain properly documented records of activities.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
  • If Biology, Chemistry, or Physics degree - must have at least one year of experience in clinical laboratory setting.
  • ASCP preferred.
  • Subjects will qualify to be employed as or promoted to Medical Technologist II if he/she has ASCP certification and one year of full time experience in a hospital lab setting or 3 years of full time experience in a hospital setting without ASCP certification.  
  • 0-2 years of related experience is required.

Other Information

  • Will work primarily a day shift position:  0700 to 1530. 
  • Will work every 3rd weekend. 
  • Will rotate to cover alternate shifts as needed.  Alternate shifts include 1300-2130; 1500-2330; or 2200 to 0800.
