About Vidant Bertie Hospital

Vidant Bertie Hospital is a six-bed critical access state-of-the-art facility located in Windsor, North Carolina that provides surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, specialty clinics and primary care clinics. Our primary care physician practice operates the Vidant Family Medicine - Windsor and we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Emergency Medicine Physicians see approximately 30 patients per day, as well a cover the 6 inpatient beds during nights and weekends. Our medical staff includes some of the finest primary care, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region.

 

Position Summary

Technician/technologist works under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Laboratory Manager. Performs clinical laboratory tests (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis and other miscellaneous areas) by standard operating policies and procedures; understands method principles; performs quality control & calibrations; performs preventive maintenance; and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Works according to rotation of schedule when necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and be registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician, or equivalent, by a nationally approved accrediting agency or be eligible to take such exam for accreditation

Preferred Requirements

1-3 years of laboratory experience and or training

Other Information

  • Full-time position with benefits
  • 4 - 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday, 9pm-7am
  • Occasional holidays and weekends
