About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the building automation control system.
  • Operates the fire alarm system.
  • Inspects equipment (i.e. chillers, boilers, air handlers, vacuum pumps, etc.) during daily rounds.
  • Monitors hospital and utility systems and responds to alarms and indications received in control room.
  • Operates boilers and chillers.
  • Responds to trouble calls and maintenance requests.
  • Operates test equipment, tools, vehicles, and other equipment necessary to complete duties and tasks.
  • Shares the responsibility of staffing the control room.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 1 year but less than 2 years of formal training or education is required. Industrial Maintenance or related degree is required.
  • Welding, plumbing, electrical, electronic and computer training is required.
  • 2 Years related experience may be substituted for education beyond high school. This experience can be obtained working in the field of Electrical, Plumbing, Electronics, Property Management, Industrial Maintenance or related Military Maintenance Training.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in Property Management, Industrial Maintenance, Refrigeration Contractor and Electrical Contractor is required.

  • 1 full time vacancy, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Sunday - Thursday.
