About Vidant Medical Center

Vidant Medical Center is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional referral facility encompassing a Level-1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs patient transport equipment.
  • Responds to horizontal and vertical transport systems (elevator, tube system etc.) trouble calls.
  •  
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces patient room equipment (e.g. beds, over bed tables, nurse calls, TVS, etc.)
  •  
  • Repairs general equipment (e.g. parking gates, Addressographs, shredders, electric staplers, carts, furniture, etc.).
  •  
  • Maintains and replaces lamps in lighting fixtures.
  •  
  • Responds to plumbing related trouble calls.
  •  
  • Operates tools, test equipment, vehicles, etc. necessary to perform duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates off shift and weekend activities through the use of the shift log.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as directed.
  •  
  • Responsible for control room activities and assignments. 

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 1 year but less than 2 years of formal training or education from a trade school related to required skill.
  • 1 - 2 years related job experience required.
  • 2 years of additional related experience my be substituted for required education beyond high school.
  • North Carolina Driver License required.

Other Information

  • 1 full time vacancy, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday.
