Position Summary

  • Develops, directs and administers the Vidant Health approach to Case Management/Utilization Review (UR)Services in conjunction with the Administrator of Case Management/UR Services, Medical Director for Operations and Clinical Efficiency, Physician Advisor and Assistant Manager of Case Management/UR Services.
  • Establishes quality expectations and develops plans and implements policies and procedures to enhance services provided by the Case Management/UR Services department.
  • Coordinates the screening, interviewing selecting, development, and evaluation of departmental staff.
  • Develops and implements mechanisms to enhance collaboration with internal and external resources.
  • Evidences a working knowledge of Utilization Review (UR) processes, and can apply necessary UR concepts to discharge planning.
  • Maintains accountability for compliance with regulatory bodies related to discharge planning.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental budget consistent with the goals and philosophies of the organization.
  • Provides administrative/management coverage, as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degrees, licensure and/or certification: Must have current RN licensure to practice in state of NC. If social worker, must be from an accredited Social Work program.
  • MSN or MSW required. Enrollment into MSN or MSW program in accredited school/university with completion of degree within 3 years will be considered. 
  • LCSW preferred.
  • Certification in Case Management (ACM, CCM) preferred, or must be obtained within 3 years of employment in role.
  • Three to five years related work experience in CM/UR, and/or leadership required.
