Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Server, Storage, Epic Technical, this position partners with Vidant Health leaders to identify opportunities and deploy technical solutions that enable improvements to the delivery of patient care and business operations. Collaborating with directors and other managers across IS, coordinates a cross functional IS team in the delivery of servers, enterprise data storage, virtualization technologies, and datacenter hardware solutions and services.  This role has responsibility for staffing strategy, development, and management of multiple engineers and technical team members.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and manage a highly technical team in multiple projects 
  • Responsible for selection, management and ongoing optimization of all Windows Servers, Enterprise Storage, and Virtualization technologies within Vidant Health’s Data Centers and other locations, including Co-Location sites
  • Define, institute and monitor performance standards, reporting metrics, and KPI’s to ensure alignment with service objectives
  • Actively attend training and other learning opportunities in order to stay current with technology
  • Ensure the operational infrastructure meets all defined and established compliance and security requirements
  • Manages team resources to ensure appropriate balance between operational and project demands
  • Demonstrate a commitment to team member professional development, coaching, and mentoring
  • Support a culture that promotes excellence and team member empowerment
  • Recruit and develop team members to create a high-performing organization

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field strongly desired
  • Five to ten years related experience
  • Management Experience required
  • Two or more certifications in datacenter technologies
  • Hands on experience with Server operating systems, enterprise data storage and virtualization technologies
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage technical staff
  • Polished professional with demonstrated information technology experience and strong communication skills that can rapidly gain and maintain credibility with business leaders and IS colleagues
  • Detail oriented, with focus on high quality and customer support
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team members, customers, all levels of management, and vendors
