Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Technical Manager, ERP Applications will lead and direct a team of technical developers, security administrator and system administrators supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, Financial Supply Chain Management and other integrated systems. The Technical Manager, ERP Applications will provide hands-on management of the day-to-day support for Vidant Health¿s PeopleSoft applications and other ancillary systems as defined. The position requires a strong understanding of technical components surrounding technical architecture, deeper understanding of PeopleSoft tools and technologies and its integration to other 3rd party systems to support Vidant Health. The PeopleSoft Technical Manager will be closely working with other IS leaders and other key business stakeholders to manage technical projects including tax updates, upgrades, architecture and other ancillary projects as assigned by Vidant Health leaders. This position requires the ability to develop and oversee the controls and processes in place to provide a highly available and reliable system, as well as constantly improving operational capabilities.
This position requires open communication and strong partnerships with the business to fully understand their processes, discover needs and translate requirements of functional and technical specifications to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the delivery process. The manager must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing the application environment. They will be responsible for ensuring all assigned project and work activities are implemented on time and within budget.
This position will take an active role in managing and mentoring the careers of staff with diverse backgrounds and knowledge.  This position reports to the Director of ERP Applications.

Minimum Requirements

Education, Certifications or Licenses:
 

  • Masters/Bachelors degree in computer science, business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Payroll or Finance Supply Chain Management applications and at least 3 years of experience managing or leading technical teams with a strong understanding of business operations is required.
  • Strong foundation in technical aspects surrounding PeopleSoft HCM, Payroll and Finance Supply Chain Management  systems and technologies and software solutions for business use. 
  • Demonstrated track record implementing and successfully managing application design, analysis, development and integration related to PeopleSoft modules ¿ HCM, Payroll, Finance Supply Chain Management strongly desired.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry desired.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy

Travel:
 

  • Frequency and duration of travel is dependent on organizational priorities and the need for face-to-face interaction with operating unit leadership and staff.  Travel to Vidant Health Community Hospitals, Physician Practices and off-site locations.
  • Participation in vendor user groups, education forums and other professional associations may require out-of-town travel.


Communication skills:
 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, end users, all levels of management, and vendors.
