About Vidant Duplin Hospital

Vidant Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The newly renovated, 15-bed ER serves approximately 22,000 patients per year from the local community and surrounding towns.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Patient Care Services Leadership Team, the Nurse Manager is the primary provider of unit-based management and supervisory support to facilitate the safe, cost-effective, and high quality delivery of patient care.
  • The Nurse Manager combines critical thinking, clinical reasoning, management, and leadership skills to provide unit-based oversight and 24-hour accountability for nursing care, staffing patterns, data collection and management, fiscal health and adherence to departmental, hospital, and system policies and procedures.
  • The Nurse Manager serves as leader, coach, mentor, consultant, innovator, and change agent in the pursuit of exemplary nursing practice and provides leadership consistent with hospital and system goals and outcomes targets.
  • The Nurse Manager behaves in a manner consistent with the professional practice standards, state Nurse Practice Act, and Code of Ethics adopted by the nursing profession.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical nursing practice.
  • Baccalaureate educational degree (BSN) or (BS) is required.
  • Current BLS certification at time of hire and maintained during employment.
  • Must be proficient with computer, information, and patient care technologies.

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters Degree
  • Previous leadership and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
