Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Manager of IP Clinical Applications manage the process, workflow and content design, definition, build, deployment and administration of the systems and applications that comprise Vidant Health's Inpatient Electronic Health Record and others within the acute care setting.

The Manager of IP Clinical Applications will oversee the following applications, but is not limited to: EpicCare Inpatient, Clinical Documentation, Orders, Stork, Rover, GE Centricity Perinatal, clinical content solutions Zynx, Elsevier CPM, Krames Staywell, and any new modules that are implemented as well as third party tools utilized.
In collaboration with team and Vidant IS management, manager provides direction for supporting and constantly improving the production application.

This position is responsible for planning, communicating, leading and coordinating system change as well as overseeing the controls and processes in place to provide a highly available and reliable system and improving operational capabilities. The manager implements solutions incorporating an exceptional level of communication and organizational skills among IS technical and application staff.

This position requires an integrated focus and direction to staff based upon the assignment of clearly defined tasks, due dates and deliverable/outcome expectations.

The manager must be detail, action, solution and results oriented and must demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in managing the production environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information management or related field strongly desired.

  • Minimum three (3) years in an IS leadership/management role with a strong operational background and proven track record of accomplishments in Information Services within a large, complex, multi-location organization.
