Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

This role will be responsible for overall resource management for the Information Services (IS) division across projects, production support and operational activities. The position will be responsible for providing support to the portfolio management function that aligns with the Information Services objectives and strategic goals for the division, supporting the overall organizations strategic goals.  The position requires the candidate to have extensive experience in various areas of the organization, with the skill necessary to provide leadership, project and planning support for the Strategic Planning team.  The candidate will provide consultative and advisory support to leadership in the division.  This position performs duties related to collecting, managing, analyzing and reporting of data and information for the purposes of benchmarking, opportunity evaluation, process improvement, and planning and performance evaluation for new and existing projects, programs, and services.


  • Assist with the IS integrated planning process to create project portfolio management metrics and tracking, and alignment to near-term and long-term business priorities.

  • Develop and deliver reports at a divisional level for resource demand/capacity; develop materials and analyze information related to IS sponsored and supported projects as part of enterprise business planning process.

  • Establish standard resource scorecards for monitoring progress of resource plans by all teams/areas, identifying areas for opportunities and significant risk.

  • Works with all levels of leadership in the organization on resource planning and guidance for the organizations near-term and long-term capacity planning, productivity and operational analysis and reporting.

  • Responsible for developing the Resource Management Life Cycle for the division, including delivery, execution and support of the life cycle.

  • Performs resource demand analysis and scenario comparisons to evaluate demand for resources, which must be weighed against capacity to determine if additional resources are required to meet demand, and if required, what types of resources are needed.

  • Define and develop metrics to accurately reflect the status of resource planning and scheduling.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree BA/BS Degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance or Information systems or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three to five years related experience.
